University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn was established on September 1, 1999. The University combines a 50-year tradition of the University of Agriculture and Technology, a 30-year tradition of the Higher Teacher Education School and a 450-year tradition of theological education in Warmia.
The University employs over 2 950 persons, including 1 830 academic teachers, of which 217 hold the title of professor and 250 - the postdoctoral degree (doctor habilitated). 14 faculties provide education to over 40 000 students, including 26 560 full-time students, 13 469 part-time students, 526 doctoral students and 3 100 postgraduate students.
The students are offered the possibility to acquire extensive knowledge in the following fields: Liberal Arts, Pedagogy, Theology, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Technology, Biology, Economy and Mathematics. They can choose from among 39 or 31 majors in the system of full-time and part-time studies respectively. More than 4 000 full-time students and 2 500 part-time students graduate from the University each year.
