Lithuanian University of Agriculture (LŽŪU) is the only institution of higher education in our country where highly qualified specialists of agriculture, forestry and water management are trained. 

At present University provides studies of theoretical (fundamental) and applied type. There are two levels of studies: undergraduate and Master degree studies. Doctoral studies are also provided at the university. University confers scientific degrees of doctor and doctor habilitatus, as well as pedagogical titles of associated professor and professor.

University modules and programmes for student training are coordinated with those of the best known agricultural universities in West Europe and Scandinavian countries. This enables our graduates to acquire rich store of knowledge and to integrate themselves into labour market abroad.

Besides the training of agricultural specialists research in the fields of agriculture, forestry and water and land management is carried out. University scientists are experts on Lithuanian agricultural policy. They also provide consultations to the farmers in the field of market economy, agricultural production, farm management, rural tourism etc.
