Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Timisoara Our University has 6 faculties that offer a full educational programme: degree cycle, MSc degree, and PhD degree.
Faculty of Agriculture Established in 1945, is the oldest Faculty of our University. Until 1989, its only major was Agriculture, all the other majors being established, one by one, later, as a response to the demands of present Romanian agriculture. At present, is has the following majors: - Agriculture - Biology - Agricultural biotechnologies (Plant protection) - Environmental engineering and protection in agriculture - Cadastre (Soil Survey) - Power machines and equipments for agriculture and food industry
Faculty of Horticulture The youngest Faculty of the kind in Romania, was established in 1990 with a single major – Horticulture. In 1991, 1998, and then in 2002, we have added the other 3 majors. Students can now choose between the following majors: - Horticulture - Genetic Engineering in Agriculture - Landscaping - Forestry
Faculty of Farm Management Separated from the Faculty of Agriculture in 1995, after being one of the latter’s majors, offering at present the following majors: - Economic Engineering in Agriculture - Engineering and Management in catering and agro-tourism
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine A Faculty acknowledged at European level, with a single major: - Veterinary Medicine.
Faculty of Agro-Food Processing Technologies Was established in 1995, after operating as a section within the Faculty of Agriculture. There are at present three majors: - Technology of Agricultural Produce Processing - Agro-alimentary natural additives - Control and testing of agro-alimentary produce
Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Biotechnologies Was first established as a Faculty of Animal Husbandry in Arad (County of Arad), in 1948, but was later on (1955) transferred to TimiĆoara, within the Agronomic Institute. In 1992, it turned back to the University, adding the name Biotechnologies. There are the following majors: - Animal Breeding - Agricultural biotechnologies - Fish Culture
